Sacramento UNWI Section 5 & 6

Project Description :
The Sacramento UNWI Section 5 & 6 project consisted of 6 bores totaling 2,336 L.F. Pacific Boring, Inc. (P.B.I.) planned to complete the bores within 8 months using tunnel boring machines. The project started September 19th, 2005 and was complete April 1st, 2006. P.B.I. surpassed all quality and time expectations set forth during the pre-construction process.


Livermore Export Pipeline Phase I & II

Project Description :
The Livermore Export Pipeline Phase II project consisted of eleven bores totaling 3,812 lineal feet. Pipe diameters ranged from 54" to 36" and required the mobilization and use of several different Tunnel Boring Machines. Pacific Boring, Inc. commenced work on March 5th, 2003 and completed work on June 11th, 2004.


Bradshaw Interceptor 6A

Project Description :
The Bradshaw Interceptor 6A was a direct jack of 108" RCP. The RCP had an outside diameter of 131" O.D. and weighed in at nearly 60 tons per 16' joint. The Bradshaw Interceptor 6A consisted of two bores totaling 812 lineal feet. Pacific Boring, Inc. completed all 812' with an backhoe tunneling machine.


Bradshaw Interceptor 7A

Project Description :
The Bradshaw Interceptor 7A contract required Pacific Boring, Inc. to direct jack 90" RCP under Bradshaw. Pacific Boring used an backhoe tunneling machine to install 207 lineal feet of RCP. The carrier pipe came in 12' joints which weighed 15 tons per joint and had an outside diameter of 107".


A-line Relief Interceptor Phase 2A

Project Description :
Install 96" RCP via EPBM Pipejacking under a golf course and under major intersections in a commercial area. The manufactured earth pressure balance machine (EPBM) is to install 3,000-lf of 96" RCP in two drives. The EPBM will use the same octagonal launch shaft to complete both drives. The first 1,300-lf drive has been successfully completed. The EPBM will now launch again 135 degrees from the first entry point in the same jacking pit for the second 1,700-lf drive.


Second Main Track Sunset Route Segment 1 - Union Pacific Railroad

Project Description :
Pacific Boring, Midwest Mole, and Iowa Trenchless teamed on what is thought to be one of the largest auger boring projects to ever be attempted. The auger boring project when finished will have more than 520 large diameter bores located under a stretch of the existing Sunset Route of the Union Pacific Railroad in the state of Arizona.
